About

Here be the logs of my attempts to live both frugally and well. This usually entails mounds of unfinished DIY/home improvement projects and more homemade food than can possibly be consumed by two people. This blog focuses on the latter. Contrary to what the title of this blog might imply, I am not a house wife. Rather, I am a full-time grad student with part-time work that affords me more time at home to do things like start homemade sour dough in the morning, check on its rising process during study breaks, and pop it into the oven while a 20-page paper is printing.

My spouse and I live in a small, one-bedroom walk up in Chicago. Our floors are slope-y and our kitchen small. I use the word “house” loosely.
